Step 2: Install RuneLite

Get the official RuneLite client - the most popular third-party client for Old School RuneScape.

Step 3: Install the Dink Plugin

Add the Dink plugin to RuneLite from the Plugin Hub - it's free and takes just a minute.

Quick Install Steps:

  1. 1Open RuneLite
  2. 2Click the Configuration icon
  3. 3Click "Plugin Hub" at the bottom
  4. 4Search for "Dink"
  5. 5Click "Install"

Step 4: Import Your Configuration

Connect RuneLite to RuneDiary with your personalized configuration.

If you've used Dink with another service before, click the Reset button at the bottom of the Dink plugin settings before running ::dinkimport.

How Character Discovery Works

Once you're set up, simply play OSRS normally. We'll automatically create character profiles when events are received from the Dink plugin.

Play Normally

Log into any of your OSRS accounts and play as usual. No setup needed per character.

Events Trigger Discovery

When you get a drop, complete a quest, or achieve something tracked by Dink, we create your character profile.

Multiple Characters

All your accounts (main, ironman, HCIM, etc.) are automatically linked to your RuneDiary account.

What This Means for You

You don't need to manually add character names or configure anything per account. Just play OSRS with the Dink plugin running, and we'll handle the rest. Your character will appear on RuneDiary as soon as the first event is logged.

After Your First Event

Once you trigger your first qualifying event in-game (like a valuable loot drop), here's what happens automatically:

You'll receive a one-time email confirmation that your first event has been tracked
Your RuneScape character name will be linked to your account
Your account profile will appear in search results in the top right
You'll get a direct link to your adventurer's log page
All future events will be automatically tracked and displayed

No need to do anything else - just play the game and your progress will be tracked!

Want More Control?

Free plans have preset thresholds for which events are tracked and saved. For greater control over event filtering, thresholds, and which events are sent to RuneDiary,upgrade to a premium plan.
